Cruise Terminal Coordination – Chauffeuring from Southampton’s Horizon Terminal to London and Beyond
From Le Mans Start to First-Class Finish: A Morning at Horizon Cruise Terminal
If you glance at the photo, you’ll spot something unusual — both chauffeur doors wide open, as if mid-flight. No, it’s not poor etiquette or a hasty exit. It was, in fact, a light-hearted nod from our team to the Le Mans start — an iconic piece of motorsport history.
For those unfamiliar, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world, held annually in France since 1923. In its earlier days, the race would begin with drivers lined up on one side of the track, running across to their cars, jumping in, and racing off. It was chaotic, daring, and spectacular — and while that format was retired for safety reasons, it remains an unforgettable image in motorsport folklore.
At Horizon Cruise Terminal that sunny morning, our chauffeurs had a bit of fun recreating that moment — albeit with less running and no racing. With their doors open and engines running, they were prepped and perfectly positioned at the very front of the terminal, ready to collect passengers as soon as they disembarked the Oceana Vista.
